Teresa is a deeply experienced tech GC with a background in SaaS, HR Tech, and regulatory compliance. She has had the pleasure of leading and scaling teams in high growth, fast-paced environments at various founder-led startups including Dropbox, Medium, and an early-stage HR compliance platform. In addition to legal and compliance functions, she has managed HR, finance, comms, and trust & safety, plus represented clients in public policy discussions with lawmakers on Capitol Hill and with UK and EU regulators.
Before transitioning in-house, Teresa spent over 10 years practicing law in Silicon Valley and Austin, Texas, including at firms Morrison & Foerster and Baker & McKenzie, gaining invaluable experience with clients ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies.
Over the course of her career, Teresa has enabled companies to expand their customer base with favorable commercial agreements and increased deal velocity, and helped them navigate the risks of a rapidly expanding workforce. Teresa also has shepherded her startup clients through capital financings and corporate restructurings, including M&A, acquihires, and other legal strategies.
A seasoned litigator from her years in private practice and as Dropbox’s head of litigation, regulatory and employment law pre- and post-IPO, Teresa brings a holistic view to her general counsel work. Years of seeing countless issues play out in countless ways has shaped her talent for realistically assessing risk and seeing around corners.
Teresa is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Texas School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in California, New York, and Texas.
